“His Mercy”

John 8:1-11

One of the most endearing characteristics of Jesus is “His Mercy”.   He was so kind and forgiving.  The religious leaders saw this as a weakness and an opportunity to trap Him.  The story of the Woman caught in adultery illustrates this point.

The Lessons

1. Our sin always catches up with us – I Timothy 5:24;  2 Corinthians 5:10

2. Everyone sins and deserves to be punished – Romans 3:10, 23;  6:23

3. God delights in showing mercy – Micah 7:18;  Lamentations 3:22-23

4. God never condones sin – Romans 2:1-4;  2 Peter 3:9
