“Honor the Son”

John 5:16-30

In this section,  Jesus is claiming equality with the Father.  Therefore, because Jesus is God, He deserves the same honor and respect as the Father.

The Son is Equal  with the Father

□ He does exactly  what the Father does – John 5:16-20;  6:38;  8:28-29

□ He gives life  to whom He pleases – John 5:21;  10:10;  3:16

□ He is the Judge  of all things – John 5:22- 30;  2 Corinthians 5:10 

Honor the Son just as  the Father

□ Honor His teachings  – John 8:31-32;  14:15,  21;  Matthew 28:18-20

□ Honor Him with worship  - Matthew 2:1-2;  14:33;  25:34-40

□ Honor Him with all your heart  - Matthew 10:37;  Colossians 3:23-24
